SMC sets up monitoring dashboard to oversee projects remotely
June 08, 2024
Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has recently introduced a monitoring dashboard to oversee key projects remotely, as directed by Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal. This dashboard aims to streamline monitoring processes for senior officials to supervise important municipal construction projects remotely, eliminating the need for on-site visits. In the initial phase, the monitoring dashboard has been implemented for the ongoing construction of the new administration building and the Dumas Sea-Face Project.
Efforts are underway to expand coverage to additional municipal projects like the Riverfront Development Project, Conventional Barrage, and the Iconic Building. Other departments have been notified of this development, signaling an effort to centralize project oversight and provide daily updates remotely to municipal authorities.
The monitoring dashboard was outlined in 2024–25’s budget speech by Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal. This dashboard provides real-time updates on project progress, including adherence to tender conditions, daily machinery usage, workforce activities, and financial expenditures. DeshGujarat
