MSU in process to increase Commerce Faculty Seats for locals by 1450

Vadodara: MSU’s Commerce Faculty may witness increase of seats for local students by 1450. A decision in this regard was taken in a late-night meeting on Monday at a hotel in Sayajiganj. The meeting was attended by BJP leaders and the university’s Vice-Chancellor. Official confirmation from the university was still pending.

The decision aims to address recent opposition to the admission criteria, which required a minimum of 75% for local students. The city BJP President Dr. Vijay Shah, District BJP President Satish Patel (Nishaliya), VC Dr. Vijay Shrivastav, city MLAs Yogesh Patel, Manisha Vakil, Chaitanya Desai, Balu Shukla, Keyur Rokadia, and Dharmendrasinh Vaghela were present in the meeting.

Previously, the Commerce Faculty had 5,800 seats for both local and outside students. The increase of 1450 seats was decided in favour of local students after directive from Gandhinagar.

To mark this decision, BJP MP and office bearers of the organisation, along with former Faculty Representative (FR) Nikhil Solanki, plan to distribute roses equal to the number of seats increased in the Commerce Faculty. Additionally, former FR Pankaj Jayswal will light lamps in the Commerce Faculty premises as a token of gratitude to the BJP organisation. DeshGujarat
