Valsad: Parts of Southern Gujarat recieved heavy rains on Sunday morning, creating the situation of water logging and traffic desruptions at number of places including Valsad and Surat districts.

While Valsad received nearly 4 inches of rains in two hours (6 am to 8 am), Mahuva in Surat receieved around 2 inches of rains in this period.  Surat city receieved one and half inch rain so as Umargam. Palsana received nearly on inch rain.

Katargam, Dabholi, Singapor areas in Surat had knee deep water logging on roads. Garnalu (underpass) in Valsad remained shut for traffic for a while due to water logging. The underpass is crucial for journey towards Dharampur chokdi.

During 6 am to 12 noon, Palsana in Surat city top the chart by receiving 5.23 inches of rains, followed by Bardoli 4.60 inches, Vapi 4.40 inches, Mahuva 4.25 inches, Olpad 3.97 inches, Surat city 3.62 inches, Valsad 3.50 inches, Kamrej 3.14 inches, Khergam, Dharampur, Sankheda, Bharuch, Umarpada, Mandvi, Songadh, Kaprada, Valod, Nasvsari, Vyara, Vandevi, Pardi etc talukas also receievd heavy rains.
