Gujarat to support if New Zealand wants to set up a university: CM tells Kiwi Diplomat

Gandhinagar: Patrick Rata, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to India, led a delegation to meet with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in the state capital today. The discussions centered around enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of innovation, education, and research and development.

Expressing a keen interest in investing in the state, the High Commissioner highlighted potential opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, dairy, and education. Chief Minister Patel reassured him of Gujarat’s full support in these endeavors, noting the presence of prestigious international universities in GIFT City.

Additionally, Chief Minister Patel extended an invitation for New Zealand to consider establishing its educational institute within GIFT City, underscoring the state government’s commitment to fostering educational and research initiatives.

During the meeting, there was also dialogue on Gujarat’s economic landscape, where both parties exchanged insights and explored avenues for future cooperation.

Mr. Rata applauded the ongoing cooperation in the dairy sector between New Zealand and India, expressing optimism that these efforts would further strengthen bilateral relations to unprecedented levels.
