Ahmedabad: In yet another case of insects emerging from food served at cafes, food courts, and restaurants, a moth was found in a burger served at the corporate cafe located on Rajpath-Rangoli Road along SG Highway. In response to this incident, the civic body sealed the cafe today.
A video capturing the insect emerging from the burger quickly went viral on social media. Almas Pathan, the customer who had ordered the food, recounted the incident, stating, “We had ordered three Aloo Tikki Burgers from the corporate cafe in Shilp Corporate Park on Rajpath-Rangoli Road. Upon noticing a mosquito in the burger, we opened the burger and found a dead insect inside. We immediately brought this to the attention of the cafe owner.”
“In response, the cafe owner assured us that the employee responsible for preparing the burger would be terminated. The cafe management also offered to cancel our order and told us that we can take whatever action we can,” he added.
Following the incident, the food department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation was alerted. A team from the AMC inspected the cafe and subsequently sealed it today after issuing a notice to the cafe management. DeshGujarat
