Gujarat CM launches Rs. 397 crores development projects in Junagadh

Junagadh: The Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 91 development projects worth Rs. 397 crores in Junagadh via video conferencing.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister stated that recently, cheques totaling Rs. 2,111 crores were distributed among the municipal corporations and municipalities of the state for infrastructural development works, of which Rs. 34.40 crores have been allocated to the Junagadh Municipal Corporation.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of development works and expressed the desire to make the Junagadh Municipal Corporation number one in development. He requested everyone to work in that direction.

Working toward green growth and Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maan Ke Naam’ initiative, the Junagadh civic body will plant 25,000 trees, and the Chief Minister made an appeal to the people of Junagadh to participate in the initiative.

Raghavjibhai Patel, Minister of State for Agriculture and Minister in charge of Junagadh District, stated that the foundation laying and inauguration have been completed for projects worth Rs. 397.78 crores, which include various development works such as CC roads, drainage lines, a swimming pool, and GIS-based mapping in the Junagadh city area. These urban development works will generate employment, increase tax revenue, and contribute to urban and economic development. To realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047,” the Gujarat State Government has implemented various schemes for the development of urban areas.

The minister added that the issues related to the commercial complex for traders in the Joshipura area of the city have also been resolved. Development works for the Narsingh Mehta Sarovar and Willingdon Dam in the city will also be undertaken, and 25 e-buses will be allocated to the city.

On this occasion, Mayor Gitaben Parmar mentioned the progress and launch of development works, including the supply of drinking water in different areas of Junagadh city, the renovation of the heritage building Narsingh Mehta Vidyamandir, GIS base mapping in the corporation area, and the solid waste segregation plant. She stated that significant development work has been accomplished in Junagadh city with grants from the state government.
