September 12, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch today nabbed two individuals and seized one kilogram of MD drugs valued at Rs. 1 crore from them in the Sarkhej area of the city.
Acting on a tip-off that some individuals were hiding large quantities of MD drugs, the Crime Branch police conducted searches and raids in various locations in the Sarkhej area from late night to morning. During this operation, two suspects were detained, and approximately one kg of MD drugs was recovered from them. The drugs were brought to Gujarat from Rajasthan via Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh using a new modus operandi for hiding the drugs. The accused were traveling in an Eco van with the drugs hidden inside the tire of the van to avoid detection. After the seizure of the drugs and the detention of the accused, the authorities are now investigating where the drugs were to be delivered and whether they were delivered to another location between Ahmedabad and Jaipur via Ratlam.
These MD drugs are usually brought in large quantities and delivered to different areas through small peddlers, with young and high-profile individuals known to use them at parties. With festivals like Navratri approaching, investigations have been conducted based on the suspicion that MD drugs are used more during this time. DeshGujarat
