Yellow alert for 4 districts of Gujarat, including Vadodara; IMD predicts heavy rain for next 24 hrs

Vadodara: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has issued a yellow warning for four districts of Gujarat namely Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, and Narmada districts in the central Gujarat region. These districts have been put on yellow alert for the next 24 hours, ending at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, October 1st.

During this 24-hour period, these areas are likely to receive heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm (2.5 inches to 4.5 inches).

It is noteworthy that during the last 24 hours, ending at 8:30 AM today, Vadodara district received very heavy rainfall, with 130 mm (5.11 inches) recorded. This was the highest rainfall across Gujarat, followed by Junagadh, Botad, and Gir Somnath.

With the heavy rains in Vadodara, the Vishwamitri River, which passes through the city, is flowing at a 25-foot level at Kalaghoda Bridge, just 1 foot below the danger mark as of 12:57 pm today. DeshGujarat
