We have to create such system that cow butchers will flee Gujarat: MoS Home in Kutch

Bhuj: Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, today inaugurated 144 houses constructed by the Gujarat Police Housing Board at a cost of ₹19 crore for the Kutch-Bhuj police during an event organized at Police Headquarters in Bhuj. Additionally, the Minister of State also e-dedicated 62 Class-B houses for the Kutch District SRP Group-16 located in Bhachau, a newly built police station in Gagodar village, and the Kutch District Police-run Gaushala – Shinay, in Gandhidham.

During the event, the MoS for Home stated that the border district of Kutch has an international border, making its security paramount. He congratulated the police personnel, BSF, and Army personnel for their crucial work in securing the country. Furthermore, he publicly instructed the police to take strict action to prevent cow slaughter. He emphasized that stringent measures should be taken against cow butchers and appealed to the police to create a situation where the Khatkis (butchers) would not only leave the district but also flee Gujarat. He praised the Kutch Police for establishing a Gaushala for this purpose.

“Has any citizen imagined that the police will open a Gaushala? I want to congratulate the Range IG Kutch and all of you for making this effort, which is the first of its kind not only in Gujarat but in India. Opening a Gaushala is not enough; we should create an arrangement in Kutch district that makes the legs of these ‘Khatkis’ (cow slaughterers) shiver. We need to create a system in which these butchers run away from Gujarat; cow slaughter shall not take place in our state, and we must establish such arrangements,” the MoS stated.

“I am stating this from open stage that the police must be so stringent with these butchers that they don’t even cross the border of our state. These butchers should run away from the district. The entire range is present here, great work has been accomplished in this direction, whether in Banaskantha, Patan, or both units of Kutch districts. However, we still have more work to do with strictness… Take whatever actions are necessary, be it combing operations, raids, or strict actions, they must be taken by the police stations and not a single (butchers) shall not be spared, as letting cow killers go unpunished is also a sin. Act on even the smallest of such cases with seriousness,” he added.

The Home Minister appreciated the security agencies, including the BSF, Army, and Police, for successfully seizing large quantities of drugs in the border district and working to counter related conspiracies. He assured the security agencies that action would be taken against those operating the drug network, stating that the state government would always support these efforts.

On this occasion, Kutch District Panchayat President Janaksinh Jadeja, MLAs Keshubhai Patel, Pradyumnasinh Jadeja, Virendrasinh Jadeja, Maltiben Maheshwari, and Trikambhai Changa, Bhuj Municipal President Rashmiben Solanki, prominent figure Devjibhai Varchand, ADG of Arm Unit PK Roshan, BSF DIG Anant Singh, District Development Officer S.K. Prajapati, West Kutch SP Vikas Sunda, East Kutch SP Sagar Bagmar, Banaskantha SP Akshayraj Makwana, Patan SP Ravindra Patel, and Kutch ST Divisional Director Yogesh Patel, among other officers and office bearers, were present.
