IMD predicts dry weather in Gujarat for rest of Navratri; light rain likely only in Valsad on Oct 5, 6

Valsad: The latest forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has brought relief to all Garba lovers, as the weather department of the central government has ruled out the probability of rain in Gujarat for the remaining days of Navratri. However, light rain is likely to occur in only one district, namely Valsad, until October 6th.

According to the latest bulletin from the IMD, light rain and thundershowers are very likely in isolated places within the districts of the South Gujarat region, including Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, on October 5th and 6th. Meanwhile, dry weather is expected in the rest of the region.

From October 7th to 11th, dry weather is very likely across Gujarat. Additionally, for the subsequent two days, i.e., the 12th and 13th, there is no significant change in the weather as per the bulletin.

Synoptic situation as per IMD

The southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from additional parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, some areas of Maharashtra, and most parts of the North Arabian Sea as of October 5, 2024.

The line of withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon now passes through 29°N/84°E, Nautanwa, Sultanpur, Panna, Narmadapuram, Khargone, Nandurbar, Navsari, and 20°N/70°E.

Conditions are favorable for the further withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and additional areas of Maharashtra over the next 2-3 days.
