Gujarat govt to develop two new Expressways, 12 Garvi Gujarat Corridors

Gandhinagar: Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, in his budget speech today, announced two new express highways to be built by the state government. Proposed new expressways are to be developed on Dwarka–Somnath and Deesa–Pipavav routes.
The finance minister said, “For high-traffic roads, high-speed corridors, and expressways will be developed for which Rs 1020 crore allocation has been proposed in this year’s budget. Garvi Gujarat Corridor 1367 crore 12 new corridors. Two new expressways are to be developed in the state, of which the Banaskantha–Saurashtra coastal connecting Deesa–Pipavav road shall be developed as the Namo Shakti Expressway. Another expressway will be developed as the Somnath–Dwarka Expressway, which shall be linked to the Ahmedabad–Rajkot–Porbandar.”
The minister further announced that with the cooperation of the central government, the airports at Surat, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Porbandar are to be expanded, while Dahod will get a new greenfield airport. DeshGujarat
