Surat model booked for creating fake social media IDs, harassing married woman
April 26, 2025
Surat: Aanchal Singh, a model from Surat, has been booked for allegedly creating fake social media accounts in the name of a married woman and her husband living in the Ghoddod area. She allegedly posted obscene text and a photo of the couple on the profile, prompting the matter to reach the Umra police station.
The 35-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Umra police station, stating that she received a friend request on April 22, 2025, from a fake Instagram ID in her name. Shockingly, the account displayed photos of her and her husband along with objectionable comments. Subsequently, she received similar requests from two other fake profiles. The harassment extended to her family members, including her father-in-law and sister-in-law, though none accepted the requests. The woman then approached police as her husband was out of India.
It is also noteworthy that Aanchal Singh had earlier filed a rape case against the woman’s husband, which was later settled. Despite the settlement, Singh allegedly continued to target the couple through fake social media profiles. The woman has submitted screenshots of the offensive posts as evidence. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
