Traffic restrictions, diversions announced in parts of Ahmedabad on Sunday

Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is visiting his home state of Gujarat, will inaugurate the newly constructed Pallav Overbridge in the Naranpura area on Sunday. Following the inauguration, he will address a public meeting. In view of this, traffic movement for all types of vehicles will be restricted or diverted on certain roads.
According to a notification issued by City Police Commissioner G.S. Malik, the road from Shastrinagar Crossroads to Jaymangal BRTS Cut will remain closed to all vehicular traffic.
However, an alternate route has been announced. Vehicles may take the route from Shastrinagar Crossroads, turn left at Phonwala Cut, proceed via Telephone Exchange Crossroads, and continue through the Parasnagar T-junction towards AEC Bridge.
This public notice does not apply to vehicles involved in the official program, government vehicles on duty, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, or those engaged in emergency services or situations.
This order will remain in effect under the provisions of Section 33 of the Gujarat Police Act, from 4:00 PM on May 18, 2025, until the conclusion of the event.
Any person found violating this order shall be liable for punishment under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act. DeshGujarat
