Video of students ‘kissing’ inside classroom at MS University goes viral

Vadodara: In yet another controversy at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in the city, a video showing two students allegedly kissing during an exam has gone viral. Though the authenticity of the clip is yet to be verified by the authorities, it is believed to be from the Arts Faculty. This incident has once again tarnished the sanctity of the educational institution.

As soon as the video spread, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a strong protest before the Dean of the Arts Faculty, demanding strict action. Arts Faculty Dean Dr. Kalpana Gavali has assured immediate disciplinary measures.

ABVP members submitted a representation to the Dean, calling the incident during the ATKT examinations “unacceptable behaviour among students.” They demanded strict action against the students involved and the person who recorded the video, and also called for action against the classroom supervisor.

Dean Dr. Kalpana Gavali issued a stern statement on the matter, saying: “Such indecent behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances in this temple of learning.”

She further stated that once identified, strict action will be taken against the students involved, including rustication. Disciplinary action will also be taken against the student who recorded the video on a mobile phone. Notices will be issued to the classroom supervisor and other officials present during the incident, and appropriate steps will follow.

Earlier, a similar controversy erupted during Navratri when videos of couples engaging in obscene acts at Garba venues went viral. Now, with this incident taking place within an educational campus, many feel it reflects a deeper cultural decline. DeshGujarat
