Six Hospitals Suspended from PM-JAY in Gujarat
October 27, 2025
Ahmedabad: Several hospitals in Gujarat have come under scrutiny for alleged irregularities under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Over the past three and a half months, the state government has suspended six hospitals from the scheme for violating its norms.
According to reports, five hospitals have been suspended from providing all specialty services under PM-JAY, while one hospital’s cardiology services have been suspended for three months. Additionally, 10 doctors have been barred from participating in the scheme due to various irregularities and lapses.
This action follows the first such incident that came to light at Ahmedabad’s Khyati Hospital last year, after which the state health department launched an extensive probe into hospitals empanelled under the scheme. Investigations are still underway, and action continues against hospitals found violating PM-JAY guidelines.
In Ahmedabad, Harekrishna Multispeciality Hospital has been suspended indefinitely from the PM-JAY scheme, with all specialty treatments for patients under the program now halted. Similarly, Surat’s Universal Super Speciality Hospital has had its cardiac services suspended for three months starting August 22.
In Patan, Shakti Multispeciality Hospital’s services have been suspended until the identified deficiencies are rectified. All specialty services at Vadodara’s Isha Hospital, Kheda’s Renas Hospital, and Vadodara’s Naik Super Speciality Hospital have also been suspended by the health department. These hospitals will remain barred from PM-JAY until they comply with all corrective measures, officials said.
Over the past 10 months, more than 30 hospitals across Gujarat have faced disciplinary action for various irregularities under PM-JAY. DeshGujarat
