AMC Seals 28 Buildings Including Schools, Hospitals, Banquet Halls
December 03, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed 28 buildings across the city after serious violations were detected during a large-scale inspection drive carried out under the State Government’s directive for periodic checks of “Assembly Buildings” structures where 50 or more people gather.
AMC teams conducted inspections across all seven zones, covering a wide range of high-footfall establishments, including gaming zones, hospitals, educational institutions, cinemas and multiplexes, food courts and restaurants, banquet and community halls, tuition/coaching classes, and shopping malls. As part of the process, officials collected authorization and approval documents from the users and operators of these buildings.
Upon verification of the submitted details, AMC found several structures to be unauthorized or non-compliant with safety norms. Consequently, 16 hospitals, 2 banquet halls, and 10 educational buildings have been sealed, and their operations have been halted.
Officials stated that the inspection and sealing drive is being carried out in campaign mode, and more actions are expected as checks continue across the city. DeshGujarat
