Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued 384 notices over the past two days to residential and commercial buildings in response to traffic disruptions caused by illegal parking on public roads.

AMC officials pointed out that many buildings lack proper parking facilities, leading to vehicles being parked on roads, footpaths, and other public spaces. This creates major traffic bottlenecks. To address the issue, housing associations, building owners, secretaries, and occupants have been instructed to ensure that all vehicles are parked within private premises. Notices were issued to buildings where compliance was lacking.

The AMC has also mandated the installation of proper signage and the creation of adequate parking arrangements. Officials emphasized the need for permanent control measures to prevent encroachment of public spaces, the removal of obstacles like platforms or landscaping, and the effective use of open areas for parking.
