Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Rural Police have nabbed six Bangladeshi nationals, including three children, who had been residing illegally in India for the past decade without valid passports or visas.
The arrests were carried out by the Aslali police from the outskirts of Naj village in Bareja taluka. The detained individuals have been identified as Kalon Soleman Molla (38), Mohammad Arafat Molla (19), and Reebakhatun Molla (41), who were apprehended from a borewell site in the Wadi area. They were accompanied by three minor children.
All six are natives of Bangladesh’s Khulna district. According to the police, the group had entered India unlawfully via the Satkhira border in Bangladesh and had been living in the country without legal documentation for nearly 10 years.
What emerged as more shocking during the investigation was that the Bangladeshi nationals were earlier living in a slum near Chandola Lake in Ahmedabad. However, due to demolition work being carried out by the authorities, they shifted to the Aslali area, where they went into hiding for fear of being caught. They were sustaining themselves through manual labour. DeshGujarat
