Authorities destroyed approximately 318 kg/litre of unsafe food and collected administrative penalties amounting to Rs. 1.52 lakh.

Laboratory Testing of Samples

A total of 188 food samples were collected for laboratory testing, including:

  • Paneer: 69 samples
  • Milk products: 52 samples
  • Non-vegetarian products: 25 samples
  • Sugarcane juice: 3 samples
  • Bakery products: 6 samples
  • Others (oil, spices, etc.): 33 samples

Legal action will be initiated against the concerned operators based on the laboratory results.

Hotels Sealed for Violations

Two food establishments were sealed after serious violations were found:

Bhairavnath Punjabi Tadka (Vastral): The unit was operating without the required licence and was found using analogue (non-dairy) products in place of paneer without mandatory disclosure on the menu card. It was also in an extremely unhygienic condition, prompting immediate sealing.

Punjab Di Mehak (Navrangpura): The kitchen was found infested with vermin and in an unhygienic state. The unit was sealed in the interest of public health.

Suspicious Paneer Seized

The AMC seized a suspected stock of paneer weighing 140 kg (worth Rs. 36,400) from Shri Krishna Dairy in Gota and 104 kg (worth Rs. 31,200) from Radhe Dairy in Naroda.

The Municipal Corporation has issued a strict warning that action will continue under the FSSAI Act against those misleading consumers by selling analogue products in the name of milk or cheese, or serving unsafe food. DeshGujarat
