Jamnagar: Philanthropic activities organised and activities planned to mark the 31st birthday of Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited, touched the lives of nearly 57 lakh people, a press release said.

On his 31st birthday, 31 distinct charitable initiatives have been announced. These encompass infrastructural development for pilgrims at major religious sites in Gujarat, including Dwarka, Somnath, Ambaji, and Salangpur, along with educational infrastructure upgrades, the establishment of gaushalas (cow shelters), sweets for Reliance contract workers, community feasts, saree distributions for women in villages surrounding the Jamnagar refinery, and providing essential infrastructure in rural areas.

In Dwarka, a multi-storey Yatri Bhavan (pilgrim guesthouse) will be constructed to facilitate visitors at the abode of Lord Krishna. Additionally, state-of-the-art escalators will be installed at the Dwarka Shardapeeth to alleviate difficulties for senior citizens and differently abled devotees. These initiatives will benefit around 75,000 pilgrims visiting the holy city from different parts of India and the world every year.

For the revered pilgrimage site of Ambaji, an entire floor with 17 rooms at the upcoming Yatri Bhavan will be built. Moreover, Anant Ambani has already committed to a year-long bhojan prasad seva at Ambaji Temple. This initiative will provide food to around 26 lakh devotees coming to seek the blessings of Maa Amba. Similarly, a year-long morning and evening bhojan prasad seva has also been planned at India’s first Jyotirlinga in Somnath Temple, which will benefit 26 lakh pilgrims. The ongoing Anna Seva called Ananta at Shrinathji at Nathdwara benefits nearly 2.25 lakh devotees every year, the release added.

Strengthening healthcare initiatives is also a key focus of the birthday celebrations. Around 2.26 lakh patients receiving treatment throughout the year at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Jamnagar will be provided prescribed meals for a period of one year. A free eye diagnosis and treatment camp has been organised in Jamnagar under Project Drishti. To date, this project has provided free eye care services to over 1.50 lakh people. Furthermore, a multi-speciality health diagnostic camp is scheduled for April 19 in Jogvad, which will benefit the populations of surrounding villages. An animal health diagnostic camp has also been organised at the Animal Hospital located in Padana.

To improve infrastructure in educational institutes, new school buildings have been planned at Sikka and Dera Chhikari villages of Jamnagar district. Tracksuits will be distributed to approximately 12,000 students of government primary schools in villages surrounding the Jamnagar refinery and Girtara. As per the instructions of Anant Ambani, a state-of-the-art community kitchen has been built in Jamnagar and handed over to Akshaya Patra Foundation, which serves nearly 22,000 students every day (55 lakh meals per year) under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. Additionally, a donation made towards improving the infrastructure of the tribal student hostel at the Goraj Muni Sevashram in Vadodara will benefit 700 students. To help villagers host social and religious events, construction of community halls has been planned at Gagva, Navagam, and Pipli in Jamnagar; Samatpara in Junagadh; and Dhanora in Vadodara, the release added.

Financial assistance has been provided to the Sadbhavna Vrudhashram (old age home) in Rajkot and the Mahipatsinh Foundation in Kheda, which will benefit 4,000 senior citizens. In terms of rural development, crematoriums will be constructed across nine villages in Jamnagar, including Moti Khavdi, Nani Khavdi, Gagva, Navagam, Meghnu Gam, Meghpar, Padana, Jogvad, and Setalus, as well as in Kariya and Mendpara in Junagadh. State-of-the-art gaushalas (cow shelters) will be built at Shri Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Temple at Salangpur as well as at Setalus in Jamnagar district.

A 10-day-long cultural activity has been planned to celebrate the 31st birthday of Anant Ambani, including Lok Dayros (traditional folk singing nights) at multiple locations like Jogvad, Moti Khavdi, and Shapar in Jamnagar and at Paswada near Junagadh. As part of the celebrations, a feast was organised on April 9, 2026, in Jogvad for residents of nearby villages. Sweets will be distributed to approximately 31,000 people, and sarees will be gifted to 31,000 women across 15 villages surrounding the refinery in Jamnagar. Similarly, a community dinner has been organised for nearly 5,000 people in villages around Girtara. Demonstrating an inclusive approach, over 95,000 contractual workers engaged in various projects at the Jamnagar complex were included in the celebrations by providing food hampers.
