New flyover bridge from Gujarat College Church road to Ellisbridge
This long flyover is being constructed for BRTS lane and also for general traffic. It will relieve you from the Orient Club railway crossing. It will take you to Ellisbridge and Ashram road(MJ Library) without any obstacle. The construction work is going on speedily and the road is closed for traffic presently. This is not straight flyover, but it will take turn from MJ Library and go to Ellisbridge. In future when its portion over Ashram road will come to construction stage, the traffic police will have tough time to divert entire traffic of Ashram road.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has announced that several main roads of the cities will be developed as model roads. This means there will be no hawkers allowed on those roads, no illegal parking will be allowed and also the roads will be designed uniformly in possible best beautiful way. The AMC has put this railing on the footpath near Gujarat University to see how it looks. Based on response it gets, the AMC will select one of the designs. According to sources this railing design is approved for the model roads that are to be developed soon.
Alright, so the city of Ahmedabad is all set to get a new railway underbridge. This bridge is ready and let’s hope its inauguration will take place soon. It is located in Kubernagar area of the city.
And here we come to a Chabutara. For last some time in a welcome change, the Chabutra has replaced Sidi Saiyad ni jali as Ahmedabad’s iconic symbol. Chabutara is indeed a part of Ahmedabad’s unique jivdaya culture. In pol areas there are many chabutara where local people feed birds every morning. Now this new chabutara has been erected in city’s western area of Paldi. Exactly on Paldi cross road, just behind the statue of Sardar Patel, this chabutara is standing, thanks to Paldi yuvak mandal. With this, Chabutara culture of Ahmedabad has entered into a new phase, because this chaubtara is made of fiber! Even beautiful carving that we could see in earlier era chabutara is here on this chaubtara, but on fiber. How nice.
This is a signboard that you can see while passing on Paldi-VS hospital road near Pavan travels. Such boards are erected at various locations in the city, however there’s no clarity over when exactly the Metro train project. Lastly we heard that private sector was not ready to partner the government in this project. As there’s no taker in private sector, the govt is rethinking PPP model. Let’s see what happens next. For now watch and enjoy the hoarding.
Once again, local police is in action along with the AMC, and the area of Bhadra and Tran Darwaja is without hawkers. This has happened earlier too, but it continued for few days and then hawkers came back to occupy the main roads, obstructing the traffic. But this time the police is very determined(thanks to cop Harikrushna Patel. In the photograph you can watch part of Premabhai hall and Bhadra.
Yes, this is reclaimed land of Sabarmati river front, and you can watch traffic signals and motorable roads there. This land was once upon a time a river. They filled part of the river on both sides and created this land. Now there will be roads, walkway and more on this land. This photo was captured just next to Gujarat Sahitya Parishad in Times of India street, off Ashram road.
