In first cabinet meeting after expansion Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel allotted portfolios to new ministers.

Newly inducted Cabinet minister Mangubhai Patel has been given portfolios of Forest and Environment, Tribal Development. Mangubhai Patel has become fifth senior most Cabinet Minister after Chief Minister Anandiben Pael, Ministers Nitin Patel, Raman Vora and Bhupendrasinh Chuadasama.

Newly inducted Cabinet minister Vijay Rupani has been given Transport, Water Supply and Labour and Employment departments. Rupani becomes seventh senior most minister after Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Cabinet Ministers Nitin Pael, Raman Vora, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Mangubhai Patel, Saurabh Patel and Babubhai Bokhiria.

Newly inducted MoS Jashabhai Barad has been assigned departments of Agriculture and Civil Aviation.

Newly inducted MoS Parshottam Solanki has got Animal Husbandry portfolio.

Following are the details of new shape of Chief Minister Anandiben Patel’s ministry:

Changes/Shuffling that happened:

1.

Among the portfolios assigned to newly inducted Cabinet minister Vijaybhai Rupani, Transport department was earlier with Nitin Patel, while Labour and Employment was with Saurabh Patel. The portfolio of Water Supply was with Babubhai Bokhiria.

Both portfolios assigned to newly inducted Cabinet minister Mangubhai Patel, Forest and Enviornment, Tribal Development were earlier with Ganpatbhai Vasava who has been recently made Speaker in the Gujarat Assembly.

However one portfolio which was with Ganpatbhai was Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs. It has been assigned to Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.

Interestingly, Science and Technology portfolios has been taken back from Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and it has been kept with Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.

Ministers of State:

1.

Shankarbhai Chaudhary has been promoted. Earlier he was 3rd senior most Minister of State(MoS) after Dilip Thakor and Vasuben Trivedi. Now he has been elevated to number one rank among all MoS. While his portfolios( (MoS Health and Family Welfare and Transport) continue to be same, he has been promoted by giving independent charge of Urban housing ministry. Earlier he was not enjoying independent charge of this department.

Newly inducted minister Parshottam Solanki has been assigned Animal Husbandary portfolios(MoS) which was earlier with MoS Bachubhai Khabad.

Newly inducted minister Jashabhai Barad has been assigned Agriculture and Civil Aviation portfolios(MoS). Earlier Civil Aviation portfolio was with Jayesh Radadia(MoS) while Agriculture was with Govindbhai Patel(MoS).

Jayesh Radadia has been given Water Supply portfolio which was earlier with Govindbhai Patel.

Bachubhai Khabad has been assigned Forest and Environment(MoS) portfolio which was earlier with Govindbhai Patel.

Jayantibha Kavadia has been assigned one more department – Co-operaion(MoS) which had earlier no MoS berth. Jayantibhai continues to hold all other portfolios he has.

Govindbhai Patel has been assigned new portfolios(MoS) of Energy & Petrochemicals and Science and Technology. Govindbhai’s all existing portfolios are assigned to others. The new portfolios given to him had earlier no MoS berth.
