BRTS Janmarg service in Ahmedabad declared free for blinds, 40% concessions to handicap

Mayor of Ahmedabad city today declared free ride for blind students in Janmarg Bus Rapid Transit Service(BRTS) buses. She made this announcement while attending a function at Andhajan Mandal. She also declared 40% concession for handicapped persons. These announcements were made on occasion of World Disable Day.
-Blind people will be given yellow smart card while handicap, deaf and dumb persons will be given pink color concession smart card.
-Totally blind person will be availed free service while those having over 40% disability and those deaf-dumb will be given 40% bonus on smart card recharge.
-Such smart card will be effective for all BRTS buses in Ahmedabad for one year. After one year it will be renewed.
-If someone else is found using smart card of beneficiary, it will attract cancellation of smart card and fine. Such beneficiary will not get yellow/pink smart card benefit again.
-Authorized doctor’s certificate will need to be produced.
-Effective date of starting of the scheme is 3 December 2014.
