Junagadh

There is great excitement about upcoming new university proposed to be opened in Junagadh city. Proppsed university will cover colleges of nearby Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Porbandar districts that are at present connected to Saurashtra University, headquarters of which is located in Rajkot.

Junagadh University is one of two new univeraities proposed to be opened in this financial year by Gujarat government. The pthee university proposed will come up in tribal belt of Gujarat at Godhra.

Family of late histotian of Junagadh Shri Shambhuprasad Harpradad Desai has announced that rich collection of books of late Desai will be donatwd to proposed Narsinh Maheta University in Junagadh.

Shambhuprasad had penned down several books on history of Junagadh, Somnath and Girnar mountain in last century. Family of Desai has also suggested chair in the name of Desai for research in history.
