Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) is set to expand its lignite mining operations, with three new mines scheduled to begin production this financial year. The expansion will be completed by 2027 and it will increase the capacity from 2 lakh tonnes at present to 2.75 lakh tonnes in the future.
