Chief Secretary to collect facts about Patan self immolation bid incident: CM Vijay Rupani

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupai today said that the Chief Secretary has been given the responsibility to collect all the facts regarding the self immolation bid by a man in Patan collector office premises.
Speaking to media persons here today he also said that the complete cost of treatment of Bhanu Vankar a resident of Dudkha village under Sami taluka of Patan district would be borne by government.
‘Looking at the incident, It is my request to the people of Gujarat to not to make such attempts. Any issue on all the subjects can be solved by sitting together,’ he said.
‘The Apollo Hospital (near Gandhinagar) where he is admitted has been instructed to provide best possible treatment to him and all the cost would be borne by the government,’ the CM added.
He said that he had instructed the Chief Secretary to collect all the facts about the incident.
Earlier Gujarat Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ishwar Parmar had yesterday ordered an inquiry in to the incident which took place allegedly owing to inordinate delay in mutation of a land document.
Bhanu Vankar, a former Talati yesterday poured kerosene over him and tried self immolation. The fire was doused but he sustained sever burn injuries. He has been admitted to Apollo hospital with almost 80% burn injuries and was on ventilator.
One of his relative said that he was running from pillar to post for mutation of the document of a piece of land for last six years. He was fed up of the administrative red tapism.
