AMC neglecting 120 years old Ellis bridge: Congress releases photographs

Badruddin Sheikh, Leader of opposition, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has demanded restoration of 120-year-old Ellis bridge(Swami Vivekakand bridge. In a statement released with photographs of damage to Ellis bridge, he said there are more than 200 damages on this bridge. Sheikh alleged that AMC is deliberately neglecting the old bridge so that it may collapse on its own and its scrap can be sold.
About Ellis bridge:
There was this old Ellis bridge used for traffic. In recent years, AMC constructed two new bridges on both sides of the old bridge and kept the old bridge between them as it is considering its heritage value associated with city. The old bridge in center of both new bridges is not used for traffic or for any other purpose, while two lanes on its both sides are utilized by traffic. They have been named as Swami Vivekananda bridge.
