Congress declares candidate for one-seat Gujarat assembly by-poll

Gandhinagar: Opposition Congress party has declared the name of its candidate for upcoming Morva Hadaf assembly seat by-election. The seat is reserved for Schedule Tribe (ST). Congress party has fielded Suresh Chhaganbhai Katara as its candidate on this seat. Katara is Sarpanch of a village in Morva Hadaf taluka. Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) is yet to announce the name of its candidate for this by-poll, polling for which is going to take place next month. Morva Hadaf was previously won by an independent candidate. The seat after its formation was for the first time in year 2012 Gujarat assembly general elections won by Congress candidate Savita Khant. In 2013 by-poll it was won by BJP candidate Nimisha Sutar.
