Rickshaw falls in sinkhole in Sarkhej – Juhapura

Ahmedabad: A rickshaw along with its driver fell into a sinkhole in Ambar tower locality of Juhapura – Sarkhej in the city today morning. Fortunately a driver came out with little scratches only, but the rickshaw suffered heavy damages. It was pulled out using a crane after some time. The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) later ring fenced this sinkhole that has come up over a main 2200 mm diameter underground trunk line.
The city yesterday had upto two inches of rains. In another tragedy, yesterday a person who ventured into a water-logged rail underpass in Vanzar area of Sarkhej in the city was fished out by AMC’s fire department jawans. He was taken to Sola civil hospital where he was declared dead.
