Bail hearing of Pragnesh Patel in SG Highway accident case rescheduled to Aug 3

Ahmedabad: The bail hearing of Tathya Patel’s father, Pragnesh Patel, in the SG Highway accident case, has been further scheduled for August 3 after the government lawyer could not file the affidavit in the Ahmedabad district court today.

Nine people died in the ISKCON Bridge accident, and its prime accused is Tathya Patel, a 19-year-old Jaguar driver and the son of Pragnesh Patel, a resident of Gota. Police had booked Pragnesh under section 506, and he is currently under judicial custody. It is alleged that after the accident occurred, Pragnesh came to the incident spot, threatened the people present, and took his son to a private-run CIMS Hospital for treatment.

Pragnesh applied for bail in the Ahmedabad district court, and the hearing was held today. However, the government did not file an affidavit, leading the court to schedule a further hearing on Prajnesh Patel’s bail plea for August 3.

Nisar Vaidya, Pragnesh’s lawyer, stated that the bail application hearing took place in the respected court today. The government sought time until July 31st to file the affidavit, citing the government lawyer’s commitments in the Supreme Court. Therefore, the date for the further hearing has been fixed for next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a purported audio clip of Pragnesh Patel is circulating in the media, in which he allegedly speaks about his son, Tathya Patel, saying that 19-year-old boys do commit accidents, but that does not mean they will get life imprisonment. DeshGujarat
