32,590 kg narcotics seized in 2 years in Gujarat: Govt

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat police have confiscated 32,590 kg of drugs valued at ₹5,338 crores over the past two years, as stated by the Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, in the state assembly on Thursday.
The MoS Home was responding to a question posed by Padra MLA Chaitanyasinh Zala, who inquired about the seizure of drugs in Vadodara and Devbhumi Dwarka. In the response, the minister stated that in 2022 and 2023, a total of 522 cases were registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS), in which 785 individuals were apprehended.
A total of 32,590 kg of narcotic products, including marijuana, opium, hashish, heroin, brown sugar, and synthetic drugs, were seized. DeshGujarat
