Another FIR against land mafia Jayesh Ranpariya’s brother in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: Another police complaint has been filed against Dharmesh Ranpariya, the brother of notorious land mafia Jayesh Patel, in connection with extortion and threats related to loan recovery. The complaint accuses Dharmesh Ranpariya of pressuring a local businessman to repay an exorbitant interest rate on a loan.

The complaint was filed by Laljibhai Savjibhai Markana, a factory owner residing in Patel Park Society on Ranjitsagar Road. According to the FIR filed at Panchkoshi B Division Police Station, “The accused lent a total of Rs. 25 lakh to the complainant and his relatives at a high monthly interest rate of 10%. Despite the complainant paying Rs. 26 lakh in cash by April 2024, the accused continued to demand both the principal amount and additional interest. When Markana was unable to repay further, the accused forcibly entered the complainant’s factory, seized machinery and goods worth Rs. 10,78,000.”

Dharmesh Ranpariya has been booked under IPC Section 384 and the relevant provisions of the Gujarat Moneylenders Act, Sections 5, 39, 40, and 42. The police have initiated further investigations into the matter.

Notorious land mafia Jayesh Patel is currently in jail in London. He is booked in over 40 criminal cases in Gujarat, including the murder case of advocate Kirit Joshi in Jamnagar in 2018. Last year, a court in London granted permission for Patel’s extradition to India.  DeshGujarat
