Amreli: Chaos ensued in Jafrabad town when a lioness attacked several people in a single day.
Initially, the lioness targeted a security guard of a private company near Lunsapur village late at night while he was on patrol. The injured guard, identified as Pankaj Bhaliya, was promptly taken to Kashiba Multispeciality Hospital in Rajula for treatment.
Subsequently, forest department officers were alerted. In the morning, as forest officials attempted to capture the lioness, it attacked two employees and a department driver. All injured personnel were also hospitalized.
Despite the dangerous situation, forest department employees and officers courageously administered a sedative injection to the lioness. The Jafarabad range successfully rescued the aggressive animal in a two-hour operation.
ACF GL Vaghela, head of the Palitana Shetrunji Division, noted the prompt response of the forest department in capturing the lioness. Currently, the lioness is undergoing treatment, and investigations into the cause of the attacks are ongoing. DeshGujarat
