Ukai dam being filled up with over 1.63 lakh cusecs inflow; Notable outflow at Damanganga and Karjan dams

Surat: At 11.00 am on July 24 today, inflow from upstream areas in Ukai dam of South Gujarat was as high as 1.63 lakh cusecs. Ukai dam is nearly 43 percent full at this hour. As the level of water in the dam 96.08m is below the prescribed rule level of 101.50m, water is not being released in the downstream, and therefore there’s nil outflow towards Surat city in river Tapi.

The other dam with significant inflow today is Karjan in the Central Gujarat, which is 99,642 cusecs, against which outflow is 48,633 cusecs. The level of water in Karjan dam is above prescribed rule level at present.

Outflow fro Damanganga dam of South Gujarat is 49,255 against inflow of 42,101 cusecs. The level of water is little about rule level.

In Saurashtra region, 10,530 cusesc discharge is happening at this hour from Bhadar2 dam against same size of inflow. The dam has water level little less than rule level at this hour. DeshGujarat
