AMC Increases Advance Tax Rebate Up to 15% in Budget 2025-26

Ahmedabad: The draft budget of ₹14,001 crore for Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for the year 2025-26 was presented by then Municipal Commissioner M. Thennaresan. Today, the Standing Committee of AMC approved an increased budget of ₹15,502 crore, adding ₹1,501 crore. Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani presented the revised budget to newly appointed Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani. This budget includes a decision to provide a 12% rebate to those who pay advance tax.
The resolution states that property tax is the primary source of revenue for the municipal corporation.
– Previously, advance taxpayers received a 10% rebate, which will now be increased to 12%.
– Taxpayers making online advance payments earlier received an additional 1% rebate. Now, those paying online in advance will get a total of 13% rebate (12% + 1%).
– Taxpayers who have consistently paid advance tax for three consecutive years will receive a 14% rebate (12% + 2%), and if they pay online, they will get an additional 1%, making it a total of 15% rebate.
This scheme will be implemented from the designated date in April 2025 and will remain valid for the 2025-26 financial year. DeshGujarat
