February 21, 2025
Patan: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has arrested Ravi Shantilal Darji, Assistant Technical Engineer at WASMO (Water and Sanitation Management Organization), Patan, in a bribery case involving ₹1,00,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant had undertaken the work of laying a water pipeline under the government’s “Nal Se Jal” scheme (Jal Jeevan Mission program) in Sami, Sami Taluka, during 2022-23. The final installment (deposit) bill of ₹38,44,598 was pending. In exchange for depositing the cheque for this bill into the complainant’s account without deductions, the accused demanded a bribe of ₹1,00,000. As the complainant was unwilling to pay, he approached the Patan ACB and filed a complaint. Based on this, a trap was set. During the operation, the accused engaged in a conversation with the complainant, accepted the bribe amount, and was caught red-handed at the scene. The crime has been duly registered. DeshGujarat
