Seventh Day school under scanner for illegal construction
August 22, 2025
Ahmedabad: Allegations of illegal construction have surfaced at a Khokhra school, where a Class 10 student was recently stabbed to death. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had allotted a 10,465 sq m plot on a 99-year lease to the India Financial Association of Seventh-day Adventists in 2001 for setting up the school.
While the plot was meant strictly for educational purposes, questions are now being raised over unauthorized construction on the premises. Reports suggest that structures have come up on the terrace and in the basement, along with an illegally built shed. AMC has launched a probe to verify these allegations and will also examine whether the school paid the required impact fee for any unapproved construction. DeshGujarat
