Full Offline Classes Resume at Seventh Day Adventist School After August Student Stabbing

Ahmedabad: The Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Khokhra resumed full offline classes on Friday with an overall attendance of 70%, more than a month and a half after it was closed following a stabbing incident that resulted in a student’s death.

Earlier, teaching had gradually resumed for higher classes: Classes X and XII restarted last week, followed by Classes VI, VIII, IX, and XI from Monday to Wednesday.

The school, which has a total enrollment of 10,267 students from Classes I to XII, was shut on August 20 after a student allegedly stabbed another student outside the campus, triggering protests from parents.

The administration confirmed that all necessary security measures have been implemented under the guidance of District Education Officer (DEO) Rohit Chaudhary. Two DEO officials have been deployed at the school, and additional CCTV cameras have been installed. DeshGujarat
