Next decisions to be taken by party high command: Gujarat BJP president Vijay Rupani
August 01, 2016
Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP president Vijay Rupani today while speaking to media said, Anandiben Patel has sent a letter to party’s national president Amit Shah today morning and she has put the text on Facebook. She has taken this decision in order to give time to new team to work. She is of opinin that new team should get chance as she is going to complete 75 in November this year.
Rupani said: I have spoken to Anandiben and Amitbhai today on this. Anandiben has expressed wish to relieve her. She has asked party to take next decisions. She is party worker very much in foundation of party. After Narendrabhai Modi’s departure, she didn’t allow to feel his absence. She has done very good work as woman Chief Minister. She has been a ‘samvedanshil’ Chief Minister, and that is her image among people. She has been an asset for the party. Ben’s wish to step down at this juncture is due to the reason that she was to step down in November this year as she was approaching 75 age-mark. She wants new team to get enough time to prepare for Vibrant Gujarat Summit and assembly general elections scheduled to take place next year, and therefore has decided to step down early.
Rupani said further decisions will be taken by party’s high command. He clarified that at this point, Anandiben Patel is Chief Minister.
