Arun Jaitley visits Chanod – Karnali; kicks off/dedicates development works

Vadodara: ‘Treasurer’ of Government of India, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today visited ‘treasurer of Hindu Gods’ Shri Kuberji at Karnali village based Kuber temple which is located in Central Gujarat.

Jaitley performed puja at Kuber temple and presented silver face to Kubereshwar Shiv here.

Jaitley on his visit to Karnali village which he has ‘adopted’ for development, launched development works/projects worth Rs 68.50 crore.

Jaitley was on his third visit to Karnali village after adopting it. Jaitley has also adopted nearby Chandod village.

On his visit to Karnali today, Finance Minister Jaitley worshiped river Narmada and had boat ride to travel between Karnali and Chandod – two villages he has adopted.

Jaitly spoke about religious importance of Karnali-Chandod and said it was his pleasure that he has got an opportunity to partner the development of Karnali and Chandod. Jaitley thanked Gujarat BJP organizational man Parindu Bhagat(Kakubhai) for suggesting him Chandod-Karnali villages for adoptation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. jaitley said more pilgrim facilities at Chandod Karnali will attract more pilgrims which will result into local economy.

Jaitley distributed approval letters for assistance to widows under state government scheme. He also distributed dustbins for solid waste removal. Jaitley distributed cashless fair price shop coupons under ‘Digital India’ movement and also felicitated distinguish local personalities.

It should be mentioned that Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Board which functions under Gujarat government has given in-principal approval to Rs 45 crore development works at Karnali-Chandod. Jaitley today performed ground breaking for Rs 1.50 crore road construction on Chandod-Mandva stretch. He also dedicated a smart class room at Kumar School in Chandod. He observed ongoing construction of Rs 16 crore Karnali-Chandod Orsang river bridge which is expected to complete in next six months. The new bridge will cut down the distance to Chandod from 45 km to just 3 km. Jaitley also performed ground breaking for a sports complex here.

Jaitley said the budget this year has enough financial provision for power, irrigation, roads, drinking water, housing, toilets and MGNREGA to achieve overall development of villages.
