New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav probably frustrated by defeat in recent Uttar Pradesh elections, today again spoke a lie in attempt to show Gujarat in poor light. Yadav speaking to media said ‘many are martyred from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Southern India, but tell me if any single jawan is martyred from Gujarat!’
Akhilesh who is in alliance with Congress party had even on earlier occasion used derogatory language about Gujarat during Uttar Pradesh assembly poll campaign. He had made ‘Gujarat key Gadhe’ (donkeys of Gujarat) remark in one of his speeches in public rally in UP in the course of campaign.
Interestingly, Congress spokesperson Surjewala who addressed a press conference at party headquarters in Delhi refused to condemn Akhilesh’s statement. National news channel Republic quoted Surejwala as saying, ‘must understand why he(Akhilesh) said that’ when asked to react to Akhilesh’s remark on Gujarat.
