Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today in a note shared with media claimed that among total daily admissions of covid patients taking place in various hospitals across Ahmedabad only 17 to 18 per cent admissions take place through 108 ambulance service, while the other admissions take place directly.
The AMC note said: in the city of Ahmedabad, across all hospitals, daily 1300-1400 admissions take place, out of which only 225-250 admissions take place through 108 service. These are the admissions that take place in 20 per cent free bed quota reserved for AMC referred patients in private hospitals, five hospitals based in Asarwa Medicity civil hospital campus, Sola civil hospital and AMC run hospitals such as SVP, V.S., Shardaben and L.G.
Out of 225-250 admissions, only 100-115 take place in Medicity campus and rest of the admissions take place in other hospitals of the city as per the vacancy of beds, the AMC note informed.
AMC said, DRDO Dhanvantari hospital is now taking daily 40-50 patients and in near future admissions will increase here. Such admissions take place through 108 service as per the decision by the State government.
AMC pointed out that 108 service is operated by the department of Health, Government of Gujarat and not by AMC. However in view of current situation, AMC is offering administrative help to this service. DeshGujarat
