Vadodara court approves 3-day remand of man accused of raping a Hindu woman

Vadodara: A court in the city has granted a 3-day remand for Mohammad Hussain Shaikh in what is popularly known as a love jihad case. The accused is alleged to have raped a Hindu woman in the Navapura area of Vadodara, after threatening her.
The accused, Mohammad Hussain Shaikh, who resides in Navapura Ansari Mohalla, reportedly began stalking and harassing the 22-year-old married Hindu woman (mother of a child), approximately 1.5 years ago. After threatening her, he obtained her mobile number. The woman’s husband was out of town when they established contact, and two months later, the accused visited her residence late at night. He allegedly raped her after threatening to harm her son and carry out an acid attack on her face.
The court has granted the accused’s remand until June 5th. DeshGujarat
