Why heavy vehicles of Gujarat go to Diu Daman for RTO passing?

Surat: A scam of RTO passing of trucks, dumper and other commercial vehicles is going on in union territory Diu and Daman according to a report.
In this scam, the gross vehicle weight is passed 8 to 10 tonne more while empty vehicle weight is passed 5 to 6 tonne less while registering the vehicles.
Usually dumper and truck when empty is 10 to 12 tonne, but in Diu – Daman empty truck weight is shown as 4 to 6 tonne. Trucks carrying goods would be 37 tonne, but it is permitted for 45 to 48 tonne.
Due to such malpractice, lot of commercial vehicles owner are recently found rushing to Diu – Daman for registration of goods vehicles. Registration of heavy vehicles in Diu Daman has gone 110 percent up in recent years.
The scammers produce temporary rental agreement for registration of vehicles in Union Territory.
Due to scammed permit, the commercial vehicles registered in Union Territory can carry 45 to 47 tonne goods instead of 35-37 tonne, resulting into overloading and damages to roads.DeshGujarat
