Vadodara: A 14-year-old Hindu girl living in the Junigadhi area of the city has filed a complaint against a 60-year-old man, Hamidullah Khan, for sexually harassing her.
The family of the girl had gone to her aunt’s house in Ahmedabad for Shivaratri. The girl, along with two of her cousins, were home alone. Hamidullah Khan Pathan, a 60-year-old resident of Wadi Nalband Wada who used to regularly visit their society selling Ayurvedic oil for several years, came to their house on Shivaratri day at noon. He asked loudly if her grandmother was at home, but the girl said they were all in Ahmedabad. Taking advantage of the situation, Hamidullah entered the house and offered to massage the girl’s knees. He then began touching her inappropriately and physically assaulting her. When the girl’s cousin arrived after she raised an alarm, Hamidullah threatened to kill them all if they told anyone.
On Wednesday, when Hamidullah returned to the society to sell oil again, the girl narrated the entire incident to her family. They then apprehended Hamidullah and took him to the city police station, where the girl filed a complaint against him. The police have arrested him and are taking further action. DeshGujarat
