Winter grips Gujarat with below-normal temperatures; Ahmedabad, Vadodara at 15°C
November 10, 2025
Gandhinagar: Winter chill continues to set in across Gujarat as minimum temperatures remained below normal levels in most parts of the state, according to the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning.
Gandhinagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 14°C, about 4°C below normal, making it the coldest district in Gujarat. Naliya also recorded the same minimum temperature of 14°C, which was 3.1°C below normal. In contrast, the temple town Dwarka, being a coastal area, reported one of the highest minimums at 21°C, followed by Okha (20.1°C) and Veraval (19.4°C).
In Ahmedabad, the minimum temperature dipped to 15°C, which is 3.1°C below normal, while the maximum settled at 31.8°C, 2.2°C below normal. Similarly, Vadodara and Surat also witnessed cooler-than-usual conditions, both recording minimums around 15°C and 16.4°C, respectively — nearly 4°C below normal.
Among the coastal areas, Porbandar (16°C) and Bhavnagar (16.1°C) also reported significant drops, indicating a widespread fall in night temperatures.
Humidity levels were notably high in Rajkot (90%), Naliya (88%), and Kandla (87%), suggesting mild moisture retention even as skies remained clear across the state. No rainfall was reported from any station in Gujarat.
The IMD attributed the prevailing cool conditions to clear skies and dry north-easterly winds, which have facilitated radiational cooling during the night. The latest forecast also predicts no major change in minimum temperatures over the next seven days, indicating that nights are likely to remain cold across the state. DeshGujarat
