Gopal Snacks begins namkeen production at Modasa plant in North Gujarat

Rajkot: Gopal Snacks has started commercial production of namkeen at its Modasa manufacturing facility in North Gujarat. According to the company, the unit earlier produced only potato wafers and fryums and “has now been expanded to include namkeen manufacturing.”

A company statement said the move is part of its operational strategy to “strengthen supply efficiency and improve coordination between production units in different regions.” The company added that namkeen production at Modasa is expected to “support demand in northern and western markets” and “reduce delivery timelines for distributors.”

Raj Hadvani, Whole-Time Director and CEO of Gopal Snacks, said the expansion marks a step toward tightening the company’s production network. “The commencement of namkeen production at Modasa will help us improve supply chain efficiency and respond to demand across markets. Producing our range of namkeens at both Rajkot and Modasa allows us to serve distributors faster and maintain product availability,” he said.

The company said the Modasa plant benefits from being located in a region with “direct access to key raw materials including potatoes, peanuts, and black gram,” which are sourced from farmers in surrounding areas. It also said the facility includes “around 40,000 metric tonnes of cold storage capacity” to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply.

Following the expansion, Gopal Snacks stated that the Modasa unit’s production capacity stands at “approximately 200 metric tonnes per day.” The company also noted that the plant is undergoing “infrastructure upgrades, process improvements, and automation work” carried out by its in-house engineering team.

Gopal Snacks said the expanded capacity will support distribution in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and other northern and western regions by enabling “faster market reach and consistent product availability.” DeshGujarat
