January 16, 2026
Rajkot: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Gujarat to develop large-scale renewable energy projects in the state, with an estimated investment potential of around ₹25,000 crore.
As per the agreement, the Gujarat government will extend support by facilitating statutory approvals, clearances and registrations in accordance with prevailing state policies, ensuring the timely execution of the proposed projects.
According to an official statement, the collaboration proposes the establishment of renewable energy projects across Gujarat, including solar, wind, hybrid systems and battery energy storage facilities. The MoU, which is non-binding in nature, is also expected to generate substantial employment opportunities.
The agreement was formalised during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Saurashtra–Kutch region, held in Rajkot on January 12, 2026.
The projects will be implemented through NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary and the dedicated renewable energy arm of NLCIL. The initiative aligns with the company’s corporate roadmap to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. DeshGujarat
