Gujarat govt to purchase wheat at MSP; online registration from Feb 1

Gandhinagar: The Central Government has fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of wheat for the Rabi Marketing Season 2026–27 at Rs 2,585 per quintal. To ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce, wheat will be procured at the MSP through the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., as done every year, the state government said in a press release.

Farmers willing to sell wheat at the MSP across the state will be required to register online at the village level through VCE from February 1 to March 1, 2026. The registration process will be completed through biometric authentication of the farmer account holder. Wheat procurement at the MSP will be carried out from March 4 to May 15, 2026.

For registration, farmers must keep the necessary documents ready, including a copy of the Aadhaar card, updated village sample, 7/12 and 8/A records. If the crop sowing entry is not reflected in the 7/12 or 8/A, the Talati’s signed and stamped copy will be required. Farmers must also provide bank account details in their own name, along with a copy of the bank passbook or a cancelled cheque.

Farmers registered for MSP procurement will be informed about the purchase schedule through SMS. At the time of purchase, farmers must carry their Aadhaar card or identity card. The procurement quantity will be accepted only through biometric authentication of the farmer account holder. If incorrect documents are found during verification, the registration will be cancelled and the farmer will not receive any purchase notification.

As online registration is mandatory for farmers wishing to sell wheat at the MSP, the Civil Supplies Corporation has urged farmers to contact their respective Gram Panchayats for registration. In case of any difficulty during the registration process, farmers may contact the helpline numbers 8511171718 and 8511171719. DeshGujarat
