Man attacked in Khokhra after dispute over pet dog; three booked

Ahmedabad: An argument over keeping a pet dog turned violent in the Khokhra area, where a man was allegedly assaulted. Khokhra police have registered a case against a father and his two sons in connection with the incident that occurred on Sunday evening.

According to the complaint, Shivshankar Divakar was discussing the issue of keeping a dog with a neighbour when Shani Chauhan arrived and told him that he could keep a dog but should not bring it near their house. Shani allegedly began abusing him, and when Shivshankar objected, he reportedly brought an iron rod and struck him on the head.

Police said Shani’s father, Arvind Chauhan, and brother, Ravi Chauhan, also joined the attack and allegedly beat Shivshankar. Hearing the commotion, local residents gathered at the spot, after which the accused fled.

As per the FIR, all three accused together beat the victim and started abusing him in filthy language. The victim was hit on the head with a knife, became unconscious, and was rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment. Khokhra police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
